Board members are unpaid and commit their time and expertise to govern the organisation and ensure the delivery of services to address the needs of the most disadvantaged in our community.  As a charity, surpluses are not distributed to any individuals and are re-invested in the organisation or in the delivery of services to overcome disadvantage.

Board members have a wide range of skills and experiences including accountancy, marketing, community development, career and employment development, management and law.

The Board are responsible for the governance and overall direction of the organisation and for the employment of a Chief Executive Officer to act on their behalf and manage the organisation.   Current Board members have an average of 8 years commitment to the organisation, with the Chair and Treasurer showing a combined commitment of 35 years.

Board members are strongly committed to ensuring that Jobs Australia Midland maintains a focus on providing services to assist the most disadvantaged in the community.  The Board has endorsed the allocation of funds and staff over a number of years to delivering services to support those most in need such as Indigenous, refugees and migrants with minimal English, and long term unemployed people, and is strongly committed to Jobs Australia Midland working in partnership with others in the community to alleviate disadvantage and poverty.

The current Strategic Plan endorsed by the Board identifies their commitment to increasing and enhancing the range of community services offered to the most disadvantaged in our community; a commitment to invest in the development of affordable housing; a commitment to maintain and enhance services to Indigenous people, and a commitment to continue to fund our Community Key services, which include a Low Cost Counselling service for people who are in poverty or disadvantaged who need but cannot afford counselling.

The Board meets bi-monthly as a full Board and creates sub-committees or working parties as the need arises.  The Annual General Meeting is held in September.
