Jobs Australia Midland is committed to providing you with the highest level of customer service which includes protecting the privacy of your personal information. This policy sets out the way we handle your information including its use and disclosure, and how you can access your personal information.
This policy only applies to our databases and files and does not cover any State, Territory or Commonwealth Government database or file. You are advised to contact the relevant government agency for a copy of their privacy policy.
To provide you with employment and related services, we may need to collect personal information such as:

Any personal information we collect or receive will be used solely for the purpose of providing you with employment and associated services. Employment and related services includes services to employers, upskilling agencies, and profiling for employment.

As a provider contracted by the Commonwealth Government to deliver employment and associated services, we may receive some information about you from Commonwealth government departments and agencies such as:

We collect personal information by fair and lawful means and not in an unreasonably intrusive manner. If you choose not to provide personal information, we may not be able to provide you with the services you require, or the level of service on which we pride ourselves.
You may be entitled to access your personal information held by us; however you will need to provide proof of identity to do so. You may also be required to fill out a request form (available from Reception). We take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. We encourage you to assist us by letting us know of any changes to your details; and where possible, we will correct that information. Occasionally we may be unable to provide you access to your personal information; in those circumstances we will refer your request and employment services record to DEEWR for further processing under the Freedom of Information legislation.
Whenever it is lawful or practicable, you have the option of not identifying yourself when dealing with us; however, due to the nature of the services being provided to you this will be in very limited cases.
The information we request from you is used to establish your eligibility for services offered by Jobs Australia Midland. Your response will assist us to provide you with appropriate services. We use our best efforts to ensure that the information you provide to us remains private and is used only for the purposes you agree to.
We do not reveal, disclose, sell, distribute, rent, licence, share or pass your personal information on to a third party, other than under the circumstances outlined herein. We will not divulge sensitive information to a third party without your consent.
We may use your personal information for the purpose of monitoring or evaluating our performance as a JSA Provider, and may also disclose it to DEEWR for that purpose. It may be disclosed to DEEWR to enable us to receive payments from them for the services we deliver, and it may also be disclosed to Centrelink to assist them make correct payments to you.

If you choose to use the Jobs Australia Midland website you consent to the uses and disclosures outlined previously in this privacy policy. Whilst we will strive to ensure the personal information transmitted to or from our website is secure and protected from unauthorised access, you should be aware that no transmission of information to and from a website is ever totally secure and we cannot fully guarantee the security of your information. Transmission of data from this site is at your own risk.
We will not adopt as our own identifier an identifier that has been assigned to you by a government agency. Where practicable we will not use or disclose such an identifier to any other agency.
At the end of the provision of services to you we will follow guidelines consistent with the Privacy Act in terms of handling/destroying your archived information.
For the purpose of providing you with employment services we may receive from a third party, or may collect or receive from you, sensitive information e.g.; personal information revealing your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions or membership, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, or details of health, disability, sexual or criminal activity.
You are encouraged to raise any concerns you may have regarding our privacy policy and practices by discussing your concerns with any of our staff. If you wish to make a formal complaint, contact details for the DEEWR Customer Service hotline are outlined in the Job Services Australia Code of Practice booklet and DEEWR will investigate complaints promptly and fairly. The Privacy Commissioner may also investigate complaints and he has the power to award compensation payable by Jobs Australia Midland.
